In this meeting we will listen to an audio transcript summarizing
the popular business book. It is not necessary to read the book before
attending this session.
A little bit about the book ...
Much of the current thinking on leadership in business focuses on the concept of the “heroic leader.” In this model, a leader like General Electric’s former CEO, Jack Welch, drives a company’s success through his personal charisma and brilliance.
This model doesn’t work…Instead the 21st century business challenges call for unnatural leadership, which includes the ability to look a subordinate in the eye and say, “I don’t know.”
In April, we focused on emotional intelligence as it applies to leadership. This month we are looking at another perspective for modern leadership, breaking the old molds and being more transparent in how leaders communicate with their workers.
Please join us for this comparison view on leadership.
Food and drink are allowed. Bring notetaking supplies. Transcripts will be available but collected back to preserve copyright. You may order your own copy of the transcript or audio of the book summary from Audiotech Book Summary
