The trouble with making resolutions is keeping them. We all start off with the best of intentions, but in the end, many of us find life getting in the way.

This program will assist you in making and keeping your 2010 professional resolutions. Since relevancy is the key to making and keeping any resolution, we will start with a discussion regarding the future of our profession. We are no longer merely trainers; we are in fact, workplace learning and performance professionals – strategic business partners with a valued place at the table. To further understand our role, we will briefly discuss the ASTD Competency Model and Certified Professional in Learning and Performance designation.

While understanding the big picture is important for resolution setting, so is setting small goals to help you achieve your objective. That’s why we will wrap up our program with an explanation of the programs and services that are available to you through your membership with Austin ASTD to assist you in keeping your resolution.

You might be on your own with any other resolutions you set this year, but you will walk away from this program with both a resolution and a plan for your development as a workplace learning and performance professional.
