I am honored to be president of Austin ASTD for 2010. As a member for several years and a board member for the last two years, I know this organization can be a vital resource for the workplace learning community. The 2010 Board of Directors is committed to do everything we can to ensure that happens. As you will read in the article by Melissa Reaves, our Programs VP, we've outlined the programs and speakers for the entire year focusing on the ASTD Competency Model to ensure that all of us remain relevant and successful in our chosen profession. Thanks to Tracie Combs, CSHO, our new VP of Technology, our website conversion was almost seamless and has already proven successful in increasing membership and our web presence. In the coming months, we will unveil other projects to increase ASTD's profile in the Austin WLP community and enable all of us to increase our sense of community and the vitality that WLP professionals bring to our workplaces, organizations, and community.
Our goal for 2010 is to create a broader, more plugged-in community, and a chapter that includes a more inclusive membership of WLP professionals. Join us on January 15 to re-energize and take the first step for A New Year, A New You, and a New Austin ASTD!
